Mail It 4U is independently owned and operated by Megan and Ang, who took over from Bob and Lynne Plourde. Ralph and Sharon Newton opened the shop in Bath on August 23, 1989. Now at 10 State Rd, Ste 9, it has served Bath and the Midcoast ever since.
Handed on, not changed
Each owner ran this shop for years, then passed it to someone who would run it the same way.
Ralph and Sharon opened the doors
Ralph and Sharon Newton opened Mail It 4U in Bath on August 23, 1989. Sharon came up with the name. They built it into the place locals went for shipping, printing and everyday business services, and ran it until they retired.
Bob and Lynne took it from there
Bob and Lynne Plourde took over from Ralph and Sharon and ran the shop for more than a decade. They kept the focus where it started: on the customer, and on getting people the best price to ship their goods.
When they were ready to slow down and plan for retirement, they handed it on. They haven’t gone far. They still run Coastal Lockerroom, their custom apparel store.
Now it's ours to look after
We bought Mail It 4U because we believe in it. Maine is a huge part of our lives and our hearts, and Ang is from Bangor. We’re grateful to Ralph and Sharon for starting it and to Bob and Lynne for looking after it. A locally owned shop that people trust is worth keeping, and we plan to run it the way the owners before us did.
